Chanda Williams

A yoga practitioner since 1996 and a certified yoga teacher since 2005, Chanda is dedicated to increasing access to Mind-Body approaches for vulnerable populations.

She is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) and has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and two master’s degrees in Integrative Health and Depth Somatic Psychology. Since 2015, she has facilitated yoga classes inside San Quentin State Prison. Chanda is a Ph.D. candidate and UCSF research fellowcurrently completing research that will describe the effects of mindfulness-based, trauma-informed yoga for incarcerated people. In her free time, Chanda loves spending time with family and friends, enjoying delicious food, or out in nature.
