Join program director, Jasmine Tarkeshi and her expert team of passionate Lotusland co-teachers and guest specialists for a transformative 13 weekend, immersive and hybrid training at Lotusland Yoga SF.
Our training is internationally recognized and has been taught and evolved every year for almost three decades from NYC to SF graduating thousands of teachers who have spread the teachings far and wide across almost every continent! Honoring Yoga’s sacred roots in India, the teachings and practices of yoga are passed down and taught to be applied to our serve our modern world. Sequencing and teaching asana alignment, practicing pranayama, leading mantra and meditation are all taught interwoven with yoga’s rich philosophy, through Sanskrit, Ayurveda, chakras, mantras and mudras, spiritual texts such as the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita.
Dive in into sacred study to deepen your understanding and practice of all eight limbs of yoga, along with the many paths and practices to develop a personal Sadhana (a disciplined daily practice) to live your dharma (your unique purpose or path) with compassion, to be of service to others as a healing agent in our world. Whether you choose to teach Yoga or simply live your yoga as a way of life, this wholistic program will give you the tools for more physical and mental health, freedom, peace and joy in the midst of the many challenges we face.
Developed for over 27 years, Lotusland’s 200 Hour Level 1 Teacher Training will take you on a journey of self discovery through the ancient Indian healing inner map of the Chakra system - from the sacred roots of where you come from, to the thousand petaled Lotus of liberation at the crown - you will discover your true nature and explore the entire universe within you that is connected the universe around you, dissolving the divisions that keep us bound.
Each beautifully curated weekend is woven around a different element and spiritual theme with asana, pranayama, Mudra and mantra to master and teaching skills taught to support your unique expression through yogic lifestyle practices like Ayurveda or Karma and Bhakti Yoga and taught through the lens of trauma informed yoga, inclusivity and social equity to make yoga accessible to every body.
Through group practice and lectures taught by our inspiring teachers, in-class teaching practice, 1:1 mentorship and study buddy meet-ups, self-inquiry, daily personal practice and homework assignments - you will uncover your unique voice aligned with your true self & be empowered to teach if you choose, in an authentic way, aligned with your truest self.

13 Weekends 1-7PM | 2 Weekends OFF (Oct 24/25 & Nov 28/29)
Our weekend training was designed specifically for students who would like to do teacher training spread out over four months, and integrate the teachings and practices into your life without having to take a lot of time off. There are two weekends off and all sessions are recorded or live-streamed if you need to take days off.It is required to fill out an online application HERE , take at least one class at the studio with Jasmine, Zoe or senior teachers and have a minimum of 1 year of ongoing vinyasa practice. There is no physical boundary for acceptance, only a sincere desire to be a student and learn through intensive study, practice and a willingness to immerse yourself fully in yoga's life-changing path.
Additional commitments:
2 yoga classes at Lotusland per week, weekly practice teaching meeting with your yoga study buddy, bi-monthly in-class and monthly 1:1 mentor meeting, weekly reading and writing homework assignments, karma yoga project

You’ll learn not only yogic tradition and history, postures and alignment, but also how to live your yoga, and apply your new skills in the modern world with devotion to a higher purpose.
Our training size is intentionally limited to 16 students for us to better support your personal path in a safe space where you will be seen and heard and supported and challenged physically, inspired mentally and awakened spiritually according to your personal needs.
At the 200 hour level you will be physically challenged but advanced postures are not a requirement. Yoga school is open to everyone!
